The “experts” are pretty much agreed :

a) Bird Flu kills +50% of adults who catch it.

b) It is most likely to arrive in the USA / Canada in fall/winter 2006.

c) There is no way to create an effective vaccine before it arrives, ’cause the ‘pharms won’t know what to resist.

d) The only medicine once you get infected are Antivirals like Tamiflu or Relenza

That much the “experts” are pretty much agreed on.

So quite rightly the Gov. set about getting stocked up on Tamiflu & Relenza by placing orders with the manufacturers for upwards of enough to cover 25% of the population.

When you look thru’ the smoke and mirrors, the facts are :

a) The current stocks won’t even cover first responders ( doctors, police, ambulance, firemen etc…)

b) The balance won’t arrive for another 18/24 months

No wonder 38% of first responders polled said they will call in sick in the event of any pandemic.

Why risk cross infecting your family if they cannot be treated for the infection ?
